PTSD Treatment

Personalized and supportive trauma therapy to help you heal and recover.

Do You Feel Like You Are Constantly On Edge?

Are you struggling with racing thoughts or panic attacks that seem to show up out of nowhere? Do certain sounds, smells, or places trigger you—leaving you frozen, on high alert, or desperate to escape? Maybe it feels hard to trust others, hard to connect, and nearly impossible to feel anything beyond numbness.

You might lay awake at night replaying memories you wish you could forget, or bracing yourself for the next nightmare. And because you’re so exhausted, it’s getting harder to concentrate, show up the way you want to, or even get through your day. Underneath it all, there’s this constant fear, like something bad is always about to happen.

PTSD and Trauma Are More Common Than You Think

Many people experience trauma. But not everyone realizes that what they’ve been through qualifies as trauma—especially if it didn’t involve combat or a life-threatening event. Trauma can come from medical procedures, abusive relationships, car accidents, childhood neglect, pregnancy complications, birth trauma, or any experience that left you feeling powerless, unsafe, or deeply hurt.

Maybe you don’t even recall the circumstances that led you to feel this way, but you just know something isn’t right. No matter your experience, it can have lasting effects on how you view the world and yourself.

Unfortunately, trauma is all too common.  According to the National Council for Behavioral Health, roughly 70% of adults in the United States experience at least one traumatic event in their lifetime. When you experience trauma, you are at risk for developing PTSD and other life challenges.

While it is not easy to overcome the aftermath of trauma, there is good news. With the help of a warm and compassionate trauma therapist you can start to feel like yourself again, without the weight of your past holding you back.

Even Though Trauma Is Common, It’s Rarely Talked About

Trauma Therapy Can Help You Heal

As a trauma therapist, I understand how hard it can be to reach out for help. You may worry that talking about your trauma will make it worse. Or maybe you’ve tried therapy before, and it didn’t help—or it even left you feeling more alone.

Here’s what I want you to know: healing from trauma isn’t about reliving the past or forgetting what happened. It’s about gently helping your body and brain understand that you’re okay now. That you don’t have to stay in high alert all the time.

In our PTSD treatment sessions, we go at your pace. You’ll never be pushed to share more than you’re ready for. Our work begins by building a foundation of safety and trust—because without that, nothing else really matters. Together, we’ll explore what’s been showing up for you: the anxiety, the numbness, the flashbacks, the disconnection. And we’ll work gently with those responses, not against them.

Why PTSD Treatment Works

Trauma lives in the body, not just the mind. You might not remember everything that happened, or you might not even think it was “bad enough” to cause PTSD—but your body remembers. That’s why traditional talk therapy doesn’t always work for trauma.

My approach is different. We work with your whole system—your mind, body, emotions, and nervous system. I use trauma-informed approaches like Brainspotting and EMDR, which help access and process trauma without needing to relive it or retell the story in detail. These methods allow your brain and body to begin releasing what’s been held inside, while staying grounded in the present.

Over time, you will learn to feel more at ease in your body, more connected in your relationships, and more in control of your emotions—without always feeling like something bad is about to happen.

The goal isn’t to erase your past. It’s to help you carry it in a way that no longer weighs you down. With the right support, healing is absolutely possible.

FAQ:

Will I have to relive the trauma to heal from it?

During sessions, we will reflect on the trauma—but not spend all our time there. Long-lasting healing isn’t just about verbally processing traumatic events. The aim of our sessions is to access the deeper parts of the brain that store the trauma and the emotions that are tied to it. The goal of therapy isn’t to dwell on the birth trauma you experienced, but to move through it and find joy in the future again.

I have talked to friends and family about what happened; isn't that enough?

It’s important to have a support group to help you through your birth trauma, and friends and family can play a big role. However, as a therapist, I specialize in birth trauma and understand the specific tips and tools to help you process out the trauma so you can live your best life. Through therapy, you get to share everything you’re going through without fear of being judged, and you will connect with someone who is devoted to you and your healing.

Will I be in therapy forever?

Every person is different, so I can’t say how many therapy sessions you might need. However, our job is to help you quickly process and release birth trauma so you don’t have to be in therapy forever. I want to work closely with you and develop an individualized plan so I can help you reach your goals in as little time as possible. That way, you can get back to living your life.
